Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee promotes the worship of God, the prayer life of the parish community as disciples of Christ and their participation in liturgical ministries throughout the liturgical year.

Members of the Liturgy Committee plan liturgies for the main liturgical seasons of the year, for special events (e.g.  Blessing of animals, Stations of the Cross, etc.), Reconciliation Services and Communal celebrations of the Anointing of the Sick.

Adoration 

There is Adoration every Tuesday in the St.Christopher Chapel beginning at 9 AM. The Divine Mercy Prayers are prayed at 3PM and there is usually Benediction after the Miraculous Medal Novena at 7 PM.

Adult Funeral Servers

These parishioners are altar servers and Eucharistic Ministers, when needed, at funerals in our church.

Altar Servers

Altar servers are girl sand boys who are in the 5th grade or older. After training sessions,they serve at weekend Masses. Students from St.Christopher School serve the 8 AM weekday and school Masses.

Church Environment

These parishioners plan the liturgical environment and décor for the church according to the liturgical seasons.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers assist the priests and deacons in the distribution of Holy Communion under both forms at weekday and Sunday Masses. A special diocesan training session prepares individuals, adults and youth who have been confirmed for this special ministry. Those who are able also bring the Eucharist to the homebound.

Family Liturgy

Parishioners plan a special liturgy for the 11 AM Mass on the 3rd Sunday of the month during which children are invited to participate in many special ways.

Lectors

Lectors are adults and young people, who proclaim God's Word in the Sunday Scripture readings to our parish community. Training sessions prepare the lectors for this important ministry.

Ministers of Hospitality/Greeters/Student Greeters

These men and women greet people at the doors of the church before the weekend Masses. Young people of our parish serve as greeters one weekend per month.

Ushers

Men and women who hospitably serve the worshipping community by seating people, by taking up the Offertory collection, organizing the Gift Procession and assisting in a variety of ways.

Music Ministry

Participation in any aspect of our Music Ministry is encouraged. Interested persons are asked to contact Ann Riester, Director of Music Ministry, for more information and availability.

Cantors

These gifted parishioners lead the worship assembly in song at the weekend Masses and serve as the leader for the Responsorial Psalm. Interested persons are asked to audition.

Choirs:

Voice of Faith is an adult traditional choir which leads the worshipping assembly in song at the11AM Sunday Mass.  No audition is required.

The Junior Choir sings with Voice of Faith at the 11 AM Family Liturgy on the 3rd Sunday of each month.  The rehearsal for these girls and boys, ages 7and above, precedes the Mass.            

Contemporary Music Groups:           

Acclamation is a contemporary music group of vocalists and instrumentalists who lead the worshipping community in song at the 9 AM Sunday Mass. Interested people are asked to contact the director, Cheryl Jaenecke.          

One Voice and One Voice Teens are ministry groups of singers and instrumentalists who lead the community in song at the 4:30 PM Saturday Vigil Mass. No auditions are required.

Celebration Bells is a hand bell choir of persons who have the ability to read music.  This choir plays for special occasions at various times of the year.

Solace Chorale is the parish choir for Funerals and Bereavement Masses. Willing parishioners are asked to contact Ann Riester regarding availability.

Cantata is an Advent/Christmas season choir for people of all ages.

This special presentation is enjoyed by parishioners, friends and others in the community.
